Medium Frequency Furnaces

Medium Frequency Furnaces (MFFs) are high-efficiency metal melting systems in steel mills, operating on electromagnetic induction principles. Alternating current through the induction coil generates a fluctuating magnetic field, inducing powerful eddy currents within charged metals that produce Joule heating, rapidly melting materials with >75% thermal efficiency and minimal energy loss.

Medium Frequency Furnaces (MFFs) comprise four core systems: refractory-lined vessels, induction coils, MF power supplies, and capacitor banks. The vessel utilizes premium refractories to withstand molten metal temperatures (≥1,600°C) with superior insulation; Induction coils generate critical alternating magnetic fields; MF power supplies deliver stable 150–10,000 Hz currents; Capacitor banks optimize power factor (>0.95) ensuring peak operational efficiency.

MFFs deliver rapid melting rates, significant energy savings, and exceptional thermal uniformity, effectively shortening production cycles while reducing energy costs; Their user-friendly operation enables precise regulation of melting temperature and duration via control systems, ensuring consistent molten steel quality.
